Below are the instructions on how to use 1.1.1.1 DNS resolver by changing the TCP/IPV4 settings on Windows, instructions may vary depending on the Windows version you are using:
- Make sure that you are connected to the internet.
- Then from the Start Menu, search for Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center then click on the Change adapter settings on the left side.
- Then all the network devices available will display on your screen, either a wired Ethernet port or a Wi-Fi adapter. Right-click the internet-connected device based on your setup (the current active connection), then select Properties.
- The Properties window will show up. On the Networking tab, find and click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) then tap on Properties.
- On the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPV4) Properties window, navigate the Use the following DNS server addresses option enter the following IP addresses into the two fields: Preferred DNS server: 1.1.1.1
Alternate DNS server: 1.0.0.1
- Click OK.
