Below are the instructions on how to use 1.1.1.1 DNS resolver by changing the TCP/IPV4 settings on Windows, instructions may vary depending on the Windows version you are using:


  1. Make sure that you are connected to the internet. 
  2. Then from the Start Menu, search for Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center then click on the Change adapter settings on the left side.
  3. Then all the network devices available will display on your screen, either a wired Ethernet port or a Wi-Fi adapter. Right-click the internet-connected device based on your setup (the current active connection), then select Properties.
  4. The Properties window will show up. On the Networking tab, find and click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) then tap on Properties.
  5. On the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPV4) Properties window, navigate the Use the following DNS server addresses option enter the following IP addresses into the two fields: Preferred DNS server: 1.1.1.1

    Alternate DNS server: 1.0.0.1

  6. Click OK.
